SMART: Systematic Multisensory Approach to Reading Training Pt 2 July 26-28, 2010 REGISTRATION CLOSED This 3 day workshop will allow you to take your SMART Part 1 knowledge to the next level. This course will cover comprehension, syntax, semantics, vocabulary, morphemes, prefixes, suffixes, and more. You will learn how to teach FUN, structured, research-based lessons using hands-on teaching strategies. Materials will be provided.

3 Day Workshop - 2 PLUs - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Response to Intervention (RtI) and Assessment July 29, 2010 This one day workshop will provide an overview of the new Response to Intervention requirements and ways to assess reading progress.

SMART (Systematic Multisensory Approach to Reading Training) Part 1 Fall Training Dates Coming Soon! The SMART Part 1 Workshop presents a multisensory approach to teaching reading, writing and spelling across the curriculum. This approach makes it possible to meet your Response to Intervention (RTI) needs whether implementing in a Tier I, Tier II, or Tier III setting.

You will learn the skills necessary to teach phonemic awareness, the alphabetic principle (phonics), vocabulary, fluency and comprehension. This workshop utilizes methods that support classroom and special education teachers, reading specialists and paraprofessionals in presenting reading instruction. Teachers and students become involved in a process of discovery and learning in a fun, yet cognitive way that lasts a lifetime. Continuous assessments guide educators in making decisions regarding implementation for a differentiated delivery model.

SMART Spies Camps Kindergarten - Rising 2nd Grade Summer 2011 Dates Coming Soon! Join us for a fun filled week of searching for clues and following the trail to becoming a better reader!

Boost the reading talents of your rising student!

This fun, hands-on camp will enhance your young readers' skills by targeting: handwriting, phonemic awareness, sound knowledge and phonics.

Camp runs from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Campers will receive:
- a reading assessment
- instruction from highly qualified, caring instructors
- at-home activities for reinforcement
- low student-teacher ratio

Camp cost is $185 per week and will be held at both E. Rivers Elementary School and Syllables Reading Center - Alpharetta. Additional small group instruction is available following camp for $100.
